Several of our members took part in a bike ride round the abbeys of the Scottish Borders on 19th May. Here are the photos, see if you can recognise any landmarks and/or faces. |

The day was made more interesting (?) by cycling 20 miles between Kelso and Jedburgh - mostly uphill - into a gale force headwind coupled with a couple of hailstorms. Very improving - and gruelling |
|
The ride has exceeded our target of £7,500 being raised on behalf of Baynards Zambia Trust to build two teachers' houses at Katula School. |

Many thanks to all those who supported us so generously financially and also to the Galashiels and Duns Rotary Clubs for their encouragement and physical presence - and to Marmion Brasserie in Melrose for their excellent provision of bacon rolls and coffee to set us on our way. Thanks too to the support team for ensuring we didn't get lost and having an ever-ready supply of flapjacks, chocolate brownies and water to keep us going. Here's the rest of the pictures......... |
